Friends of the Earth Europe (FoEE) campaigns for sustainable and just societies and for the protection of the environment; unites more than 30 national organisations with thousands of local groups; and is part of Friends of the Earth International, the world's largest grassroots environmental network.
FoEE is coordinating the Car Fuel Efficiency Campaign from their Brussels office, supporting the activities of the national groups involved, facilitating exchange of ideas and information, and developing common strategies and joint activities. FoEE is working closely with campaign partner T&E (European Federation for Transport & Environment) whose activities focus on the EU agenda, policies and lobbying.

Agir Pour l’Environnement (APE) is a network-based organisation working on various environmental issues such as mobility, light pollution, GSM radiations, bee-killer pesticides, … whose common element is to require a cross-over expertise.
Thus, APE campaigns always involve numerous NGO partners and bridge the environmental associations with unions, consumer groups, human rights groups as well as grass-root activists. APE is doing lobby work through its own permanent mailing network of 12000 activists and in coalition with the pool of NGOs involved in a particular campaign.
APE believes that tackling climate change requires a radical cultural change in our everyday mobility, away from oil-motorisation, air pollution and destructive giant infrastructures.
L'association Agir pour l'Environnement (APE) est, depuis 1996, un outil efficace au service de la mobilisation citoyenne en matière d'environnement. Basée à Paris, APE mène des campagnes ciblées visant des résultats concrets sur les politiques publiques et les pratiques des acteurs privés, relayées à l’échelle nationale par un réseau de 12 000 signataires.
Les campagnes d’APE cherchent toujours à fédérer des partenaires associatifs, parmi les associations écologistes (France Nature Environnement, Amis de la Terre, Greenpeace, Réseau Action Climat, CNIID…) mais aussi au-delà (Confédération Paysanne, Attac, CLCV, Ligue des droits de l’homme, etc…), permettant la mutualisation des expertises et l’émergence de synergies sur des thématiques précises.
APE cherche à stimuler le débat public sur les enjeux climatiques mondiaux et locaux et appelle à une révolution culturelle en matière de transports et de mobilité pour dépasser la « civilisation de l’autocentrisme ».

Amici della Terra Italia is a non-profit organisation operating in Italy since 1978, and is recognised by the Italian Ministry of Environment. The head office is based in Rome with a network of groups all around the country. Amici della Terra is the official Italian representative of Friends of the Earth International, the largest environmental network in the world.
Amici della Terra promotes policies and behaviours focussing on environmental protection and sustainable development. It operates through public campaigns, information programmes, and educational projects which emphasise the need for global engagement in environmental protection issues.
Amici della Terra recognises the strategic importance of urban and extra-urban sustainable mobility systems to improve the national economy, to protect the environment and the climate, and to enhance citizens’ quality of life.

BUND, FoE Germany was founded in 1975 as a federation of pre-existing regional groups. Some local branches, like the Bavarian wing, Bund Naturschutz, date back to 1913. BUND has its origins in the nature conservation movement as well as the anti-nuclear protest movement of the 1970s. Today the organization is one of the most powerful environmental organizations in Germany. BUND has 405,000 members and supporters. Members are active in more than 2,000 local and regional groups.
BUND joined Friends of the Earth International in 1989. BUND works on all of today's major environmental issues. Campaigning priorities are sustainable transport, fighting nuclear power, improving nature protection laws, and greening the German tax system. Internationally, BUND works on climate and trade policy and used to coordinate Friends of the Earth International's campaign on the World Summit for Sustainable Development (=Rio+10) in August 2002. BUND campaigns for workable alternatives to the current process of economic globalisation and has been at the forefront of the sustainable development debate.
Der BUND wurde 1975 als Zusammenschluss von bereits existierenden regionalen Gruppen gegründet. Einige Gruppen existiren bereits deutlich länger, so wurde der Bund Naturschutz Bayern zum Beispiel bereits 1913 gegründet. Der BUND setzt sich für den Natur- und Umweltschutz ein. Die vielen Menschen, die diese Arbeit unterstützen, machen ihn zu einem der größten Umweltverbände Deutschlands - mit über 405.000 Mitgliedern und Förderern.
Der BUND engagiert sich gegenüber Politik und Verwaltung für eine konsequente ökologische Politik - zum Beispiel für Lebens- und Futtermittel ohne Gentechnik, für eine Reduzierung von giftigen Chemikalien im Alltag, den Ausbau von regenerativen Energien oder den Schutz bedrohter Arten. Vor Ort arbeiten viele BUND-Mitglieder in mehr als 2.000 Ortsgruppen im Dienst der Natur - etwa, indem sie Streuobstwiesen pflegen oder an Aktionen zum Klimaschutz teilnehmen. Der BUND ist föderativ organisiert. Seit 1989 gehört der BUND als deutsche Sektion dem internationalen Netzwerk Friends of the Earth International an.

Ecologistas en Acción is the largest (in terms of geographical distribution) Spanish environmental NGO, born out of the merging process of over 300 local groups all over the country, some of them with a history of several decades fighting for the environment in small towns or in big urban areas. In Ecologistas en Acción coexist different ways of understanding and living environmentalism. The result of this diversity and of a small-scale and wide-spread character of its groups is a low degree of “professionalised” work in the organization: “grassroots” and voluntary work is the norm, while democracy and participation is highly valued, sometimes at the cost of “efficiency” (read speed) in decision taking and action. Local groups coordinate activities in regional level federations of Ecologistas en Acción, which in turn make up the national level confederation. A small secretariat in the main office in Madrid provides basic support services to local groups and is responsible for national-level coordination and dynamisation.
Besides this “structural” peculiarity, Ecologistas en Acción differs from other environmental movements in Spain in the ideological stand underlying its action. The organization can be said to be part of so-called “social environmentalism”, that considers that both environmental and social problems stem from a pattern of increasingly globalised production and consumption. It believes that radical ,from the root, changes are needed if we are to avoid an ecological crisis. Our approach to environmental issues is based on the principle that resources should be equitably distributed and that, since the planet is not unlimited, their use should be cautious-their extraction should not exceed their renovation- in order to ensure future generations’ right to a liveable world.
This perception of the environment is the reason why Ecologistas en Acción is active not only in “traditional” environmental campaigning such as nature conservation, but also in issues with a socio-economic dimension as globalisation, pacifism and solidarity.
Ecologistas en Acción es una confederación en el Estado español de más de 300 grupos ecologistas distribuidos por pueblos y ciudades. Forma parte del llamado ecologismo social, que entiende que los problemas medioambientales tienen su origen en un modelo de producción y consumo cada vez más globalizado, del que derivan también otros problemas sociales, y que hay que transformar si se quiere evitar la crisis ecológica. Para ello realiza campañas de sensibilización, denuncias públicas o legales contra aquellas actuaciones que dañan el medio ambiente, a la vez que elabora alternativas concretas y viables en cada uno de los ámbitos en los que desarrolla su actividad.
La organización se estructura territorialmente mediante Federaciones y la coordinación se establece en torno a las siguientes Áreas de Trabajo: Agua, Cambio Climático, Conservación de la Naturaleza, Consumo, Contaminación, Educación Ecológica, Energía, Globalización, paz y solidaridad, Medio marino, Residuos, Transgénicos y agricultura, Transporte y Urbanismo.
Ecologistas en Acción pone en marcha todas estas actividades a través de la colaboración y el trabajo voluntario de activistas y asociados.

Terra! is an independent no-profit organization with the aim of defending the environment through international campaigns.
Terra! makes network with people, groups, locally active associations with same purposes, acting on the territory with a global vision about the environmental issues.
Together with a network of international NGOs coordinated by Friends of the Earth Europe, Terra! launched a car energy efficiency campaign, with the aim of creating a new environmental activism, open and participated, that can grow thanks to the skills and creativity of all people who want to act on sustainable mobility and the preservation of the planet.

We Are Futureproof is a not-for-profit pressure group campaigning in the United Kingdom since 2004, and is based in North London.
The mission of We Are Futureproof is to sort out personal transport for the people of the 21st century. We provide information and create debate about new and better technologies for getting around our planet.
We also empower consumers to help them get the information they need to make the right choices for their pockets and the environment. We are currently campaigning for advertising standards for new vehicles that would increase consumer awareness of fuel consumption levels and encourage sales of low carbon vehicles.
